... we went camping

We went camping for the weekend with the Christensen's and Stronach's out at Paddy' Flats in Kananaskis. It was so much fun. We had lots of great food, we played card, went fishing, and listend to endless "that's what she said jokes." I haven't been camping in two summers so it was so great to go. Kevin went fishing for his first time. I had to teach him how to cast. Too funny.
We forgot our camera so pictures will be added later.

The next few weeks are going to be super busy for us, it is my birthday, Rachel's wedding, family pictures, and the Orr parties.

Summer always goes by too fast!

...Kevin turned 24!

Kevin and I are now the same age! Well atleast for a few days. His birthday was pretty low key. I am not good a waiting so he actaully got to open his presents the night before. I managed to buy a few surprises. To celebrate we went to Cardston for the weekend and stayed with G & G Orr. We love going to spend time with them. So Saturday we went to Waterton to go for a hike. We hiked from Cameron Lake to Summit Lake. It was a 4km hike. We moved slow because of my old bod is not in shape. (I need to work on that). As always it was beautiful up there. We will be back there in August to go camping with the family. We stayed over Saturday night too.(we normally don't) so we could go to church with G & G. It was nice to attend church with them. We got there 20 mins early and Grandpa told us more then once who everyone was. We had a roast dinner after church which we weren't expecting. We love our trips to Cardston.

... I was disappointed

So I have lived in Calgary for just over 2 years now and until this past Saturday I had not been to the Calgary Farmers Market. I have been out to Millerville and loved the market there. We were out on Saturday and decided to just stop by and see how it was. Simply put I was disappointed. I would say that over 70% for the fruit and veggies there are NOT even from Alberta. It is all imported from the US. I wouldn't really call this a farmers market. It is more like a bunch of small supermarkets. I have been watching 100 mile diet on the Food Channel, I would like to try over the summer to eat 100 mile fruits and veggies. We are not ready to jump in and eat 100% 100 mile just yet. I did find some local produce at the market. We purchased asparagus and rhubarb. It was very yummy. I had never eaten raw asparagus so I tried it and it tastes like sweet snap peas. I am going to drive out to Millerville this weekend to go to a real farmers market.

...we're moving!

So I thought the next time we moved it would be to a didn't city but not this time. Everyday at lunch I scan the classifeds for apts. After looking for months I finally found something good. So this month we are moving to a 1 bedroom basement apt that includes untilities/internet/cable and LAUNDRY! I am most excited about the laundry. I hate that we are currentaly paying for laundry but even more then that I hate walking down the hall to put laundry in and having to set to timer to make sure we don't leave it in there too long and someone moves it.

Anyway we are super excited also because we will now actually be able to save money each month so one day we can buy a house. The bad part is that to get this new apt we had to pay rent for two apts for June. But it will be well worth it in the long run.

I hate paking and moving so June should be an interesting month for us. Kevin is going to bring home boxes tomorrow so we can get started packing. I plan on getting rid of all our junk. Good thing I have a whole month to do this!
